Baseball Double Header in Harlingen

Despite the weather condition, the La Villa Cardinals varsity baseball team was able to get in a double header against Harlingen JV early Saturday morning in Harlingen.  The Cardinals lost 9-2 the first game and 8-0 in the double header game, but according to Coach Tamez, important games to be played early in the season.

Powerlifting Season Concludes

The powerlifting season came to close for La Villa as no one qualified for the regional competition.  The competition was Saturday morning in Santa Rosa which was the last qualifying meet for boys.  Matthew Felix, a senior, posted a season best total of 1100 total pounds by lifting 415 lbs. in the squat, 300 lbs.

JV Baseball Solid on Defense

The JV Baseball team hosted the Progreso JV Friday afternoon in an unseasonably cold afternoon in La Villa.  The JV Cards managed only 2 runs but were solid on defense.  The game ended with a 4-2 margin in favor of the visiting Red Ants.
