JV Baseball Solid on Defense

The JV Baseball team hosted the Progreso JV Friday afternoon in an unseasonably cold afternoon in La Villa.  The JV Cards managed only 2 runs but were solid on defense.  The game ended with a 4-2 margin in favor of the visiting Red Ants.

Falfurrias Heart’s Delight Tennis Tournament

Lady Cardinal Softball competes well in Taft

The La Villa Lady Cardinals opened up with Kingsville King Lady Brahmas on Thursday competing at the Taft Invitational softball tournament.  The Lady Brahmas are traditionally a strong team and the final score was 9-0 in their favor. Varsity Boys Baseball team defeats Edinburg Quest

The varsity boys baseball team defeated visiting Edinburg Quest in only 5 innings by a score of 13-2.  Ramiro Cantu pitched 4 innings and had 10 strikeouts on the night.  Victor Martinez went 3 for 3 at bat and added 4 RBI’s.  

JH Boys Baseball downs San Perlita

The JH boys baseball came back from 5-2 deficit to defeat the visiting San Perlita Trojans by a score of 8-6.  The young Cardinals improved to 1-1 and had an exciting 3 run in the park home run by Cristian Perez.  Leroy Luna and Rey Felix both had a triple in this game.

JH Softball Girls drop to 1-1

The JH softball team lost to San Perlita Thursday night 7-11 and are now 1-1 in district play. The girls played well but fell behind early with 11-4 deficit.  Although battling back, the girls fell short, but they had a few solid plays from short baseman Savannah Rubalcaba and centerfielder Robbie Sue Espericueta.  Brianna Gonzalez
